PLACE MATS FOR PROJECT ANGEL FOOD
Yardage Requirements (4 mats)
1 yard (or four fat quarters) for
mat fronts
1 yard (or four fat quarters) for mat backs
1 yard batting or fleece (or four 13 ½"
x 17 ½" pieces)

Cut all fabric to 13
½" x 17
½" | |
|
Cut batting to 13
½" x 17
½" | |
|
Place batting on flat
surface. | |
|
Taking care to align edges, place
backing fabric on top of batting face up. | |
|
Still aligning all edges, place
front fabric on top of batting and backing face down. | |
|
If you wish to have angled
corners on your place mat, measure in 2 ½
inches from each corner and | |
|
Now, using a ¼ inch seam
allowance, stitch all the way around the edge of your place mat sandwich, | |
|
Turn your place mat inside out,
and press. | |
|
Top stitch around the edge using
a coordinating thread. | |
|
Stitch an "x" across the center, or quilt as you wish. |
